Slow & Steady

It's been awhile since I have updated. This is due to nothing dramatic has been happening. I am at the point where the contractors are just plastering and sanding. Its a wet and dusty mess, but its necessary and just not exciting. While all this is going on I continue to look for interesting items for the apartment. I have found a treasure of various items which I will post in the future. I am holding off buying most items until the renovation part is done. I am looking to have a few things made. I found a new source for doors and other items such as desks, beds and tables from an unlikely source, my Aunt. She sent me a link to a metal builder named John Beck. He has a knack for building great things out of steel. I am currently working with him on fabricating the sliding warehouse doors that will be in the loft. I am also considering having him build a bed and dining table. Here are a few pictures of his work

Wallpaper

A great deal and nothing is happening with the renovation. The plasterers (is that a word?) and painters are making their way through the loft. They will skim coat the sheet rock, than paint the walls.

While all this is going on, I thought I would show you some of the dozens of wallpapers that I have been coming across. I plan on using wallpaper in the Powder room and in either both or at least one of the bedrooms. In addition, I may wallpaper the dining area. Wallpaper has become very popular and the designs are incredible. Many artists are now putting their own spin on wallpaper. Here are just a few of my favorites.

I think this skull on black wallpaper is very cool. Custom design not available

I love these NYC watertowers. I may use this in the 1/2 bath

The branches is the other choice for the 1/2 bath

Love this "woods" collection
